This edition is one of a series of works produced by Krepakevich that explores the potential of commonplace objects to serve as tools of measurement as well as the idea of presenting ratios and evaluations of intangibles such as the meaning of personal relationships and biological variation.
As the artist himself observes: The cumulative surface area of the pages of this notebook, counting both sides of each sheet, is approximately equivalent to the external surface area of my body. The work’s surprisingly small final size prompts a mental check of one’s own body, considering the results of an equivalent condensation and collection of its surface area.
