Description

Taking the 1970 documentary film “Gimme Shelter” by Albert and David Maysles as his starting point, Kneale eliminated all footage except that with the starbursts, rings and circle effects of lens flares. The documentary chronicling The Rolling Stones’ 1969 US tour, which culminated in the disastrous Altamont Free Concert, is consolidated into an endless hazy sequence of crowds, concert goers and The Stones; both gorgeous and unpredictable.
