Description

Since 2004, the administrative office for DARE-DARE, centre de diffusion d’art multidisciplinaire de Montreal, has been a mobile ‘construction’ trailer, which moves every two years throughout the city of Montreal, presenting programmed projects in the urban environment. DARE-DARE’s first provisional location was Viger Square, a thorn in the side of Montreal’s urban geography, here they presented projects by more than 60 artists. This publication traces the variety of artistic practices that took place there and the complex reflections on the links between art and public space they prompted.

With contributions from Julie Boivin, Jean-Pierre Caissie, Jérôme Delgado, Raphaëlle de Groot, Marie-Suzanne Désilets, Louis Jacob, Fabien Loszach, Jean-François Prost and Armando Silva. Texts in French and English.
