A collection of photographs taken by the artist during her trips to Italy. Hummel considers her images as a counter-balance to the usual tourist and landmark snapshot photos. Instead the artist attempts to capture local life and atmosphere, individuals and subjects. In addition to her own photographs, Hummel includes found images from books and other publications.
NIHIL SVB SOLE NOVVM also includes texts by Axel Gampp, Matthias Kuhn and Peter Gisi who each reflect upon the themes, processes and techniques employed by Hummel.
