Description

The publication “black on white” brings together original contributions by 13 artists working in contemporary drawing. At first glance, the selected works certainly fulfill the demand for contemporary graphic realism. Nevertheless, a tension arises between the supposedly easily accessible drawings of everyday objects, situations or persons and their often ambivalent meanings, and their surreal or poetic effect. With a total of 50 illustrations – some of which can be found in the book as posters, “black on white” is also a wonderful picture book that invites digressive reading.
