Description

Blur presents a look at Sandra Brewster’s eponymous series, a body of work exploring memory, movement, and diasporic identity. Featuring reproductions of her photo-based gel transfer images, the book documents the development of Brewster’s techniques and themes since the series’ inception in 2016.

An essay by Pamela Edmonds examines how this work challenges fixed representations and evokes histories of migration. Blur offers a detailed examination of Brewster’s methods and their engagement with ideas of opacity, resilience, and the complexities of Black identity.
