Description

Between I and Lands is the first book by photographer Oumayma Ben Tanfous. This project is an intimate exploration of return, memory, and belonging.

Twenty years after leaving Tunisia as a child, the author returned to reconnect with a homeland that had lived in her dreams but evolved in her absence. Over two years, she retraced the places imprinted in her family’s history, documenting the tension between memory and reality, longing and loss.

Through photographs of etched landscapes and portraits of strangers, this book is a visual ode to reconciliation, uncovering the fragility of home and the experience of returning to it.
A deeply personal yet universal narrative.

Design: Moume Maya (Studio Safar)
