Complete reproduction of French sociologist’s Jean Baudrillard’s 1981 philosophical treatise. The book investigates the relationship between symbols and reality, and how the diffusion of symbols through media and culture construct our understanding of a shared reality.
Originally published in French in 1981, the widespread 1983 Semiotexte English release of the book (titled just SIMULATIONS) is actually incomplete translation and includes just one essay from the original 1981 release, with the rest of the book containing made up of a essay written by Baudrillard in 1977. The book was eventually translated in its entirety in 1994 in a University of Michigan Press release. The version published here is the 1994 version.
