Description

21-40 is a collected volume of Bartleby Review pamphlets published between 2013 and 2015.

Featuring a new pamphlet design by Jaz Halloran and introduction by Peter Gazendam.

Our world is an especially curated one, BARTLEBY publishes writing that might otherwise be lost to the pruned paradigm. Melville’s scrivener usually comes to mind too, but we practice his mantra (“I would prefer not to”) only notionally. This type of production certainly exercises a willful refrain from certain expectations of art criticism and publishing which may hinder the publication of, or distract from, writing simply as autonomous works of inquiry. These aspects are further touched upon in our first anthology, 1–20.

BARTLEBY REVIEW (est. 2012) is a free and occasional leaflet of criticism and other writing published in Vancouver, Canada. Edited, typeset and printed in Chinatown.

Edited by Steffanie Ling.

Softcover, perfect-bound, b&w on multicoloured paper.
