Description

In 1968 Hans-Peter Feldmann gave up painting and began gathering and arranging photographs into small booklets he called the ‘Bilderhefte’ (Picture Books). These small staple-bound publications were printed in black and white offset paper and rubber-stamped with a title simply indicating the number of pictures contained. The photographs catalogue everyday phenomena: swimmers’ heads, animal figurines, ladies’ knees, soccer players, the glamour shots of actresses. The photos communicate without elaboration, and act as stand-ins for the reality from which they’re pulled.

Bilder / Pictures is a reprinted collection of the complete ‘Bilderhefte,’ from 1968-1974.

Perfect-bound, softcover, black and white.
