With Rare Sheet Music, author Gustave Morin has produced a small but potent collection of red-and-green-ink visuals that go boom in the night. These graphic constructions all have sonic possibilities: bells and whistles and firecrackers all do their thing, ghost choirs shout and wail, various hammers smack down onto things with a cartoon fury — a series of toothy notes, finely composed. The first book in the ‘Chromatoast’ trilogy.
