Description

From Mouth to Mouth: An Exercise in Intimacy uses translation as its medium. Zoya Honarmand and Maryam Taghavi translate a text back and forth into Farsi and English until it exhausts itself and dissipates.

Each reader-translator takes the new text as their own— chewing on it, devouring it, and reproducing it in the familiarity of their home language by way of a radical subjectivity that embraces the linguistic, cultural and interpretative incongruencies inherent to the process of translation.
