Description

A cross-reference book of information on some esthetic boundaries: consisting of a bibliography into which are inserted a fragmented text, art works, documents, interviews, and symposia, arranged chronologically and focused on so-called conceptual or information or idea art with mentions of such vaguesly designated areas as minimal, anti-form, systems, earth, or process art, occurring Oct. 12 – Nov. 10, 2012 in the Mulherin + Pollard gallery (with occasional political overtones), edited and annotated by Eric Doeringer.

This is both an exhibition catalog and an artist’s book exploring themes of appropriation and reproduction. Images of my artwork are inserted into the pages of pre-existing art books, with the original information edited to correspond with the substitutions. The catalog reproduces my versions of works by Andy Warhol, Ed Ruscha, John Baldessari, On Kawara, Sol LeWitt, Charles Ray, Richard Prince, Damien Hirst, and others, text in English with some German.
