This book features photographic documentation of 53 sculptures carved out of plaster. Each sculpture represents a piece of one butternut squash, chopped. Photographed within a controlled setting and consistent background, it is the subtle differences of each sculpture that stand out. The natural and organic curves of the interior of the squash are visible in some of the images, in contrast with the sharp angles and straight edges created by the chopping knife. The length of this book is unwieldy and therefore playful as an object. It can be displayed standing and open in various configurations.
