Michals created ten photographs in honour of renound gay poet Constantine Cavafy (1863 – 1933) and his work. As with the poems, these images vary between classical homoeroticism and allegorical tableaux. Cavafy’s poems and Michals’ images are presented on alternating pages. (This copy has a split on one side of the vellum slipcover, hence a lower price).
