Description

Edited by Nina Fischer, Maroan el Sani. Text by Mami Kataoka.

This publication documents the making of the film Spelling Dystopia, which tells the story of the Japanese island Hashima. A site of rich coal deposits, Hashima was the center of a bustling mining operation from the late 1800s until it was completely abandoned in 1974, and today it is a notorious wasteland.
