An exhibition catalogue in the form of a comic book for the 1983 summer exhibition The Comic Art Show at the Whitney Museum of American Art, Downtown, which was housed in the Federal Hall National Monument at 26 Wall Street.
The exhibition attempted to link American painting from the 1950’s and early 60’s to American comic strips and graffiti art that spanned the 20th century. Includes work by artists Keith Haring, Jasper Johns, Roy Lichtenstein , Andy Warhol, Ad Reinhardt as well as R. Crumb, Winsor McCay, Art Spiegelman and George Herriman.
Also includes texts by: Tom Armstrong, John Carlin, Sheena Wagstaff, Richard Marschall, Jerry Robinson, Gary Groth, Kim Thompson and J. Hoberman.
