Description

Using a group of five photographic portraits, taken from Ed Ruscha’s series “5 girlfriends from 1955” (1972) first published in the documenta 5 catalogue, Monk entangles them with his own biography through a series of successive translations and modest alterations. The hand coloured prints relate both proximity and distance from a history, personal or otherwise.

Set of 5 black and white inkjet prints on European standard, hand coloured with watercolours. Includes signed certificate. Unique work.
