‘Typographic Obfuscation displays the process and result of a typeface system which deceives robot-readability, or O.C.R. (Optical Character Recognition) technology. Taking linguistic cues from a GCHQ (Government Communications Headquarters) leaked document, the words DENY, DECEIVE, DISRUPT, and DEGRADE are used to describe the type as obfuscation tactic. O.C.R. is denied, form is degraded, pattern is disrupted, and agency is deceived.
Backside composition is the direct O.C.R. conversion of the frontside.
