Robin Cameron and Rochelle Goldberg initiate an experiment in Moves 1, where a game is established for the sake of its rules. They hypothesize, “Strategic collisions of objects and ideas will re-orient artistic sensibilities.” Documenting the “observation of acts,” where the rules are simultaneously obeyed and broken, the book presents a number of unfolding images of paper sculptures, constructed from fragments of broken, bent, or shredded materials. These acts are then arrested and completed by the “documented analysis,” where the “recorded action is released from the structure of the event.”
