Description

Documents Birnbaum’s video work from 1977 to 1980 largely appropriation from broadcast TV and pop music soundtracks. Includes interviews with Birnbaum by Florence Gilbard, Tom Bowes, John G. Hanhardt, Barbara London, Eric Trigg and Benjamin Buchloh; and an essay by Norman Klein. Seven of the videotapes are respresented by photographs and complete scripts. Includes bibliography, two fold-outs, three colour and 62 black and white illustrations.
