Description

Asking was specifically composed for Eve Egoyan by Maria de Alvear. “Asking is one of the most intimate situations in which we can find ourselves. Asking somebody for something sometimes requires much courage.” – Maria de Alvear

Composer Maria de Alvear was born in Madrid, Spain in 1960. She studied harpsichord, piano and composition in both Spain and Germany. In 1998 she founded the publishing company World Edition, which put this CD out. The CD features pianist Eve Egoyan playing de Alvear’s piece.

This is a world premiere recording of the work. Limited edition of 100. Signed by Eve Egoyan.

Recorded at Glenn Gould Studio, Toronto, ON, on October 6 2003. Graphic design of liner notes by Lisa Kiss Design, Toronto.
