Description

The pop-up diorama, ‘Reading in the Ruins’, is a small paper replica of a work in the installation, ‘Notes From the 20th: In Memoriam’. ‘Notes From the 20th’ is a continuum of five installations done between 1994 and 2004. About the 20th century, these works are to some extent also autobographical (Freda Guttman was born in 1934) and about the life and work of Walter Benjamin, one of the great minds of the 20th and also one of its many victims.
