Almost inconceivable that there was ever a time without this fair. First there was Art Basel then there was fire. The Basel photographer Kurt Wyss (born 1936) was there for all forty years, right from the beginning. His archives have grown into an impressive reflection of the history of both the period and its art. He has put together the highlights for this jubilee: an album full of illustrations personalities, memorable impressions and unforgettable encounters with artists, gallerists, museum folk and collectors.
Includes statements by John Baldessari, Peter Blum, Sam Keller, Hans Ulrich Obrist, Don Rubell and others.
