Salvo, (born Salvatore Mangione) a veteran of the 60’s Turin circle of Arte Povera and Italian Conceptual Art, turned to the Wittgensteinian Tracticus axiomatic model of writing to explicate his theses of painting in this trilingual edition (Italian, English and German). By turns employing one-sided Socratic dialectic questions, zen-style original koans and little tiny drawings, Salvo demands a “more sensivive, thoughtful judgement of of art” with such statements as “91-Some images can become empirical, others no.”
