Description

Inspired by the work of Dan Graham, Kevin Hanley and Brady Cranfield created a spiraling line of 360 turns on a skateboard. Cranfield’s sound work takes a two second segment (the approximate time a record takes to make one rotation on a turntable) from Hanley’s audio and loops it for 2 minutes, 57 seconds (the length of the Kink’s version of Louie Louie). Tim Lee’s essay discusses Dan Graham’s essay as rock critic in “Live Kinks.” Beautifully packaged with a mesmerizing hook.

Brady Cranfield, forward/backward; Kevin Hanley, Threesixty; Christian Kuras, 4 Time; Tim Lee, Liner Notes: Dan Graham, 1969
