Points of Departure is a limited-edition artists’s book by Montreal poet, Fortner Anderson. Each copy of Points of Departure has been signed, numbered and subsequently bronzed. It is published by small perturbations press in Montreal.
Each day for a period of one-year, from February 11th, 2010 to February 10th, 2011, Anderson composed a poem and over that period 256 poems were completed.
Points of Departure contains these poems. Bound in bronze, this book is conceived so that it must be destroyed in order to be read.
Anderson presents the results of this yearlong literary project in a series readings of the entire text, which have an uninterrupted duration of 12 hours and 10 minutes. After each reading, Anderson signs and numbers his reading copies, which are then encased in bronze.
