“What started as a typo (“robert smithson” hastily clipped short to “robert smith”) became a game of finding images that might possess “smith-ness” or “smithson-ness” (and sometimes, satisfyingly, both). The first edition of the project existed as poster campaign pasted across Toronto in 2007 as part of project commissioned by the Art Gallery of York University. The second edition was first exhibited as part of a solo Bulletin Board project at Whitecolumns, NY in 2008, and made available via print-on-demand. This third edition contains many new additions, now in a pocket sized format.
Edition of 200 copies.
