A copy of a copy is an original. Reproduced through various modes of imprinting: film photography, scanning, 3D reconstruction/printing and casting, a chance induced photograph of a distorted mirror image ‘never [exchangeable] with the real, but exchanged for itself, [is] in an uninterrupted circuit without reference or circumference’ (Baurdillard). In committing to chance encounters in fervent fidelity, faithful reproduction becomes a deviating process that seizes ruptures which caress and disturb the ubiquitous ritualism and complacent indifferences of the everyday. –Jasmine Yangqingqing Yu
