IF I DIE OF AIDS-FORGET BURIAL-JUST DROP MY BODY ON THE STEPS OF THE F.D.A typeset is designed only using the letters included on David Wojnarowicz jacket itself. This image pictured him from the back, wearing a bespoke denim jacket during a 1988 demonstration at the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) headquarters. The image was taken by activist and lawyer William Dobbs.
Text from the print:
All other letters not represent are presented with an upwards pointed pink triangle, a symbol reclaimed from a nazi identification downpointed sewn onto the shirts of gay men in concentration camps. This upwards pointed pink triangle thus conveys a powerful and radical symbol of queer resistance.
