Description

Dara Birnbaum’s trilogy renders the Faustian legend contemporary through scenes of the ritualized behaviour of Italian youths in a NYC playground. Refusing ‘the indecency of speaking for others’, her characters describe and define their own stories, and react and respond to their own placement within the narrative. Concludes with a timeline composed of street demonstrations, mass and student activism.
