Description

Los Angeles-based artist Johanna Jackson makes paintings and poems. The words on this bandana are a poem made up of language collected from the half-asleep/half-awake place where Johanna starts her day. Think of it as a painting that can be used as a bandana, and in fact should be used for all the things that bandanas are used for, particularly to be worn and carried around.

The text reads:

I am dreaming I am walking on a city street but I need to acknowledge that my name is the same as a computer program. I need to acknowledge it and take the next step, whatever that is.

A former resident of both Portland, OR and San Francisco, CA, Jackson currently lives in Los Angeles, CA. She has exhibited her work widely throughout the United States and abroad since 1999. Her works are part of the permanent collections of SFMOMA, the Henry Art Gallery and the Portland Art Museum.

100% cotton bandana, 22 × 22 inches.

Made in Los Angeles, CA.
