From the conference website:
_The 33rd annual conference promises a wealth of sessions and workshops, a broad array of exhibitors and vendors, as well as fascinating tours featuring regional architecture, art collections, cemeteries, and museums.
Hosted by ARLIS/NA’s Texas-Mexico Chapter, the 2005 Conference will offer all of the networking and professional development opportunities members and exhibitors have come to expect from the Society’s annual gatherings!
Houston offers a diverse environment which has the potential to surprise our members. The Houston team, including Jon Evans and Mark Pompelia as local arrangements co-chairs, Laura Schwartz and Elizabeth Schaub as program co-chairs, and Margaret Culbertson as tours organizer, are eager to share their insights and love of the city with you. Houston is both a traditional Southern city, almost tropical in climate and full of flowers and green growing things, and a vibrant metropolitan center featuring well-known and respected art museums, public art (throughout the city but especially dense in the downtown area in walking distance of our hotel), unique restaurants, and more.
And capitalizing on that environment is the theme Beyond Borders: Collaborative and Explorative Ventures in Arts Information. The theme, and Houston itself, has sparked some creative and substantive program sessions and tours that will whet your appetite and result in a learning experience you will long remember._
