Utilizing selected materials from Art Metropole’s archive and current production, Corinn Gerber and Yan Wu will unfold the spatial and temporal transformations of the organization’s nearly 40-years practice of publishing, distributing and forging international networks with artists and their works. They will discuss the cultural, social and political contexts surrounding these activities. This will further raise questions around processes of institutionalization—for Art Metropole specifically, but also serves as a topic to engage with the local materials shared by the community, seeking points of interrelation, coherence or differences, and mostly points of access for everyone in attendance.
Special thanks to the Wu family.
