This talk by Fraser Muggeridge will tell the story of a single publication designed for Mike Nelson in 2013.
An Invocation: Five hundred and thirty books from Southend Central Library, is a 1,056 page artists’ book with two 16 page inserts that is a record of a permanent commission by Focal Point Gallery in Southend-on-Sea.
What is the role of a graphic designer in such publications? The design decisions that need to be taken, and the process of making such a publication with an artist, will be discussed.
Fraser Muggeridge is a graphic designer and teacher based out of London, UK.
