Book Launch: One Hundred Aloe Plants by Ashley Culver

Join Art Metropole on Friday March 31 2023 for the launch of One Hundred Aloe Plants, the artist book concluding Ashley Culver’s work as the Artist in the Library at the Albert Campbell branch of Toronto Public Library. The launch will feature an artist talk with Ashley Culver in conversation with Dan Adler, regarding the project and publication.
The publication functions as an archive of written responses from the participants in Culver’s project, in which library guests took home and cared for aloe plants from the library. In her essay ‘Propagation and Portals’, Culver writes about the experience of growing the collection of one hundred aloe, interacting with library guests, and considering how we are connected.
This artist book is risograph printed and by Colour Code and includes a reprinting of the poster by Alicia Nauta. It is designed by Irene Lee.
