With new editioned works and a line-up of special contributions, Art Metropole’s booth at Art Basel 2013 takes you on a ride through the lands of material reflections of what seems immaterial in publication. You will have the chance to encounter some of the processes, tensions, and techniques that inhabit them. The publics that are created here are as perspicacious as they are intimate — you can touch them, but they may leave you touched.
Thanks to all the artists for their mind–blowing engagement.

PROVENCE NOIRE SET
Provence Issue N introduces THE 2012 PROVENCE NOIRE SET, seven assortments of unique porcelain tableware. Each set includes six or more pieces of porcelain, individually hand painted in the traditional style of Provence Noir, a specific porcelain glazing technique of the Provence. Each piece of porcelain depicts drawings, patterns, and styles developed in collaboration with Lina Grumm and Hans–Christian Lotz. The name PROVENCE NOIRE also goes back to a drawing by Picasso entitled Provence Noire. The same drawing (with a “replaced” signature) can be found on the teapot of Set II (Artaud), exclusively for sale at Art Metropole’s booth.
PROVENCE is an eight-issue magazine founded in 2009.
