Tai Kwun Contemporary’s third annual celebration of art and publishing, BOOKED: 2021 features over 80 local and non-local participants—including artists, publishers, organizations, booksellers and more—presenting artist-made and artist-centred books, including zines, photo books, monographs, and critical or experimental writing, alongside associated publications and ephemera.
Find us paired with Tai Kwun artist-run-centre Para Site, Hong Kong’s leading contemporary art centre and one of the oldest and most active independent art institutions in Asia.
Art Metropole is excited to introduce two brand new publications at BOOKED; 1—130, an artist book by Toronto-based artist Nour Bishouty, and Behind Your Stumbling, a recent poster edition by Bay Area artist Kota Ezawa and writer Dodie Bellamy. We have also curated a selection of books, ephemera and LPs including the Art Metropole publication Mourning Anthology edited by Fan Wu; Ken Kagami’s Sad Poop Tote; Karen Zalamea’s They are lost as soon as they are made; Hyung-Min Yoon’s Black Book; and Martin Creed’s vinyl I Can’t Move.
The “Art Book Pop-Ups” edition of BOOKED: will take place in various sites among the heritage buildings (Block 1, Block 3 and Parade Ground) of Tai Kwun from February 25-28.
